Current obsession: converse

Currently I'm obsessing so bad over converse, (chuck taylor-high tops) to be exact. I've own a few pairs for some years now but never really appreciated them as much as I do now. I find that you can wear them with ANY and EVERYTHING and I mean everything. To the most classy dress to the most grungiest outfits. They're comfy-comfy and affordable. For sure a permanent item in my closet. Now. If only I can have them in every single color. Buy them here

Sour cream poundcake

Omgosh, there are so many ways to do pound-cake. Lately I've come up with my own spin on some of the pound-cake recipes out there in which I find easy to make and so delicious ..just follow along ..enjoy
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour - 1 cup white sugar - 1/2 cup veggie oil - 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt (the good stuff) - 1/2 cup sour cream - 2 eggs - 1 tsp baking soda - 2 tsp baking powder - 1/4 tsp salt - 1 tsp vanilla extract
Prep: Pre-heat oven to 350. It's pretty simple after that. Add all the ingredients into a medium size mixing bowl, ensure you add one egg at a time, (mixing after each one). Once the batter is mixed (do not over mix), add the vegetable oil, fold oil into the batter until well mixed, bake for 1 hour until golden brown and/or a toothpick inserted come out clean

Identity through jewelry

The type of jewelry we wear can express a lot about us sometimes. I find this quite interesting. For those of us that like big-bold jewelry may mean we are bold and courageous type of people. For those of us us who like the more subtle accessories maybe means we tend to be calm and laid back

Chocolate pecan-raisin cookies

Talking about the perfect cookie for Easter ..try these. See pics for details. Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather
Ingredients: 9 tablespoons butter, at room temperature - 3/4 cup sugar - 1 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed - 1 teaspoon salt - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract - 2 large eggs - 1 1/2 cups flour - 1 teaspoon baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg - 1/8 teaspoon ground clove - 1 cup chopped pecans - 1 cup raisins - 2 teaspoons freshly grated orange zest - 1 cup chocolate chips
Prep: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a large cookie sheet with parchment or a nonstick baking mat. Using an electric mixer or by hand, beat the butter in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add both sugars, salt, and vanilla, and beat until well mixed, about four minutes. Stir in eggs, one at a time. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove in a separate bowl. Add half of the flour mixture to the butter. Once the flour has been incorporated, add the second half. Stir in the pecans, raisins, orange zest, and chocolate chips. Drop the dough, by the tablespoon, onto the cookie sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden. Remove from the oven and cool the cookies on a rack
